Abstract

The adoption rate of electric passenger vehicles in Thailand reached 13% in 2024, though still falling short of national targets. The Thai market requires detailed knowledge about battery capacity, driving range, and charging performance evolution to overcome range anxiety and cost barriers. This research examines Thai BEV market developments from 2023 to 2025 through WLTP vehicle specifications, market reports, and secondary literature. The market transition shows a shift toward affordable mid-range BEVs while battery capacities remain stable at 75−80kWh and charging speeds approach 300 kW. The EV market in Thailand shows signs of achieving equilibrium between cost, range, and charging performance through Chinese brands’ affordable prices and German brands’ diverse model selection.
