Online social media platforms play an important role in our daily lives but also introduce significant cyber threats, which can negatively impact Thai adults physically, mentally, and financially. To raise awareness and assess susceptibility to these threats, we developed SocialCyber, a cyber threat awareness simulation game tailored for Thai adults. The game uses interactive gameplay with realistic scenarios to educate users. Our
study examined the relationship between deception rates, susceptibility to scams, and financial literacy within this game. Findings revealed a significant correlation between deception rates and susceptibility to scams (r = 0.39, p = 0.03), a negative relationship between deception rates and financial behavior (r = -0.37, p = 0.04), and between susceptibility to scams and financial knowledge (r = -0.37, p = 0.05). These results demonstrate the effectiveness of SocialCyber simulation game in assessing cyber threat susceptibility and highlight the vital role of financial literacy in mitigating scam victimization among Thai adults.
