Abstract

The computational strategy (finite-element method, FEM) for plastic deformation analysis was used in this study to investigate the mechanism of the precision blanking process, specifically for the shaving and fine-blanking processes, which was difficult to understand by experiment-based testing, due to the severe process parameters. The FE- simulation results revealed that the process mechanism could be theoretically clarified based on material flow analysis and stress distributions. Thus, by applying computational FEM the barrier of the development of the precision blanking process could be overcome. ฉ CIMNE.
