Abstract

In this paper the performance analysis of optimum combining (OC) has been investigated in a non-Gaussian fading channel called spherically invariant random process (SIRP). This type of random process can be widely used to characterize cluster and multipath fading channel due to its Gaussian-like properties. The new-found characteristic probability density functions (Cpdf) which characterized the SIRP have been examined and the closed-form expressions of the outage probability is then been derived with the number of interferes (N) being greater than the number of antenna array (L). The result also provides the Rayleigh and other fading channels as special cases. ฉ 2009 IEEE.
