Abstract

This study was purposed to construct an induction generator with vertical axis for the costal area of Samutprakarn province in THAILAND. The alternating current generator was attached to axles will generate alternating current electricity to pass AC-to-DC converter to be stored in 12 VDC battery and then it will become alternating current electricity again to be used with everyday electrical devices. According to research results, voltage in induction generator driven by natural wind was about 1.5 meter/second. Propellers started to circulate and provide 10 VDC voltage when the wind was at 2.32 meters/second. Voltage at 12.25 V makes chargers charge 12 VDC battery. Wind speed at 4.3 meters/second will make generator provide voltage at 16.3 V. The research results can be used to develop and improve alternative sources of energy to solve the energy shortage in the future and for corporative social responsibility.
