Abstract
A microwave cavity resonator technique which depends on the varied size and shape of cavity is suitable for non-destructive granular dielectric measurement. In this paper, the simulation of cylindrical cavity resonator with two waveguide transmitters is proposed with two forms of sample inside. The two forms of sample which are solid and grain are created by computer simulation. The properties of these samples such as dielectric constant, conductivity and temperature are set to paddy before the simulation. The resonator dimension is designed for resonance at 2.45 GHz and TE111 mode that is the dominant mode of cylindrical resonator. The distribution of electric field in solid and granular form of the designed resonator is shown in this paper. The benefit of this paper is to show the distribution of electric field in the resonator for two forms of sample before creating the prototype, and the prototype has been constructed correspondingly to the proposed concept, and the results are demonstrated by computer simulation. ฉ 2011 SICE.
