Abstract
A cylinder-cylinder dielectric-barrier discharge (DBD) ozone generator was developed. In order to investigate the optimum conditions for the effective ozone generation in a cylinder-cylinder DBD, the measurements of ozone concentration were carried out for various oxygen pressures and oxygen flow rates. At each condition, the electrical characteristics such as discharge voltage, current, power and their waveforms were recorded. It was found that, for all oxygen pressures, the optimum discharge voltage occurred at an oxygen flow rate of 12 L/min which led to the maximum ozone yield of about 14 g/h at an oxygen pressure of 1.1 atm. However, the maximum ozone concentration of about 80 g/m3 was obtained at an oxygen pressure of 1.1 atm and an oxygen flow rate of 12 L/min. ฉ 2010 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
