Abstract

This paper focuses on the preliminary study of effect of fluctuating wind power incorporation on the power system. The study is based on the single machine infinite bus power system simulation incorporating wind power. The difference of standard deviation of wind power has more influence to power angle and rotor speed of synchronous generator than frequency amplitude. Wind power even though can improve system stability by increase power angle, but it cause rotor speed increase. However, for rotor speed, only signal with frequency lower than 2.5Hz that deviation of wind power is significant. ฉ 2012 IEEE.
