Abstract

Visual inspection is a crucial process in industrial quality control. Visual inspection primarily relies on the inspector's performance which can be influenced by many factors. The purpose of this study is to identify, the most suitable search pattern and training pattern for visual inspection of a 3D simulation model. The program was set to create a 3D task to measure the visual inspection search patterns. The sampling group was screened for performance and efficiency, 48 students were selected for the experiment and were divided into two groups a systematic rotation pattern group and a free rotation pattern group, respectively. The results showed that the search pattern that produced the best performance from the inspector for visual inspection of a 3D simulation model was systematic horizontal search with systematic rotation. ฉ Medwell Journals, 2011.
