Abstract
In this paper, we present the fully second-order numerical scheme for solving the k-ε turbulence model. The standard incremental pressurecorrection projection scheme is applied for solving the Navier-Stokes equations. The nonlinear terms in the transport equations for kinetic energy k and dissipation rate ε can be treated by the semi-implicit scheme. For avoiding stability problems, the convective terms in this model are discretized with the mixed of central differences and donorcell schemes. The accuracy can be adjusted by the weight parameter. This numerical scheme is much more accurate and more stable than the explicit schemes. © 2014 Pushpa Publishing House, Allahabad, India.
