Abstract

This paper presents a new method that converts a handwritten shape which is presented in a raster graphic image into a vector graphic image by using B้zier curve approximation. A handwritten image is first sampled into a set of data points then perform a curve fitting by the Newton-Lagrange polynomials. Since the B้zier curve is popularly used in CAGD, such Newton-Lagrange control points will then be converted into a set of corresponding B้zier control points using a monomial form approach. ฉ 2013 American Scientific Publishers All rights reserved.
