Abstract

Wavelet transform with the Morlet wavelet function was applied to study the periodic oscillation of rainfall variability in southern Thailand. Using the white noise time series as a background for hypothesis testing of the monthly rainfall of 62 years (1951 to 2012), the wavelet power spectrum shown that in the east coast, there were two periodic oscillations of period 4-8 months and 8-16 months, meanwhile in the west coast the rainfall having one periodic oscillation with 8-16 months. ฉ 2014 Pushpa Publishing House, Allahabad, India.
