Abstract

The construction industry is one of the most significant economics drivers of a country. However, there are many construction projects have a low labor productivity problem which leads project delaying and cost of the project overrunning. The objective of this study is to determine the factors effecting construction productivity in construction project in Thailand. A structured questionnaire survey was conducted and completed by 55 Thai construction contractors who involve in construction project in Thailand. The five highest ranking factors effecting labor productivity were absenteeism of worker; labor skill and experience; financial shortage; inspection and instruction delay; incomplete drawings. This study finding can be applied for labor productivity improvement in construction project. The project manager should focus on these factors at the early stage of construction project to gain effective results in productivity. ฉ 2015 IEEE.
