Abstract

The plan-woven cotton fabric was used as reinforcement to prepare all-cellulose composites. Microcrystalline Crystalline (MCC) was firstly dissolved in a solution of lithium chloride and N, N-dimethylacetamide (LiCl/DMAc) to prepare a clear transparent solution. The plain-woven fabric was then immersed in the solution, and the all-cellulose composite was finally formed. Mechanical properties and morphology of the composites were investigated using tensile testing and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Results of mechanical properties reveal the presence of the plain-woven fabrics improves mechanical properties of the cellulose films. This is because of the good interaction between the matrix and reinforcement. ฉ 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
