Abstract
Increasing in popularity of tourism has impacted on the environment and local communities in several ways. The industry needs to look out on the growth of visitors. The purpose of this research is to develop guidelines for measurement and evaluation in sustainable resort development. The study is to analyse the sustainability of resorts internally and externally. According to the Global Reporting Initiative, this study is divided into the following steps. First, the concept of sustainable development to suit the resort business is purposed. The concept is based on economic environment, and social. IRR, LCA, HWI and ISO26000 are among tools that are used to implement to a resort. Second, the definition of sustainable development and stakeholders has been reviewed. The purposed indicators that are appropriate to the resort and drives sustainability are introduced. Lastly, the improvement on the resort after evaluation from the study is suggested. ฉ 2016 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.
