Abstract

In this paper, we focus on problem of energy loss in the split type air-conditioning. Whereas temperature, number and position of people in the room are vary, an average return air is used to control compressor period. However, this method leads to wasting energy with other loads such as tables, chairs, books, and so on. We propose adaptive actual load for energy saving in the split type air-conditioning. Firstly, we use image sequence for predicting the positions and number of people, and demanded temperature of actual load. Then, we adapt actual load by Takagi - Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy models. We calculate time period of condensing unit which consists of compressor, condensing fan and speed of evaporator fan. Finally, we use Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for operating compressor and condensing fan and speed of evaporator fan. The experiments are performed and the results are compared to the conventional method. The results show some improvement in energy saving. ฉ 2016 IEEE.
