บทคัดย่อ
This study shows the average success rate in software development projects is about 28.8%, which means 2 out of 3 software development projects failed and/or were challenged. Failures in software development always result in financial loss to the business and industry. To overcome this underlying phenomenon, it essentially requires effective techniques to improve decision making in an investment and to contribute to a higher success rate of software development projects. This paper presents a predictive model for successful software development project by involving an IT strategic alignment consideration to evaluate the success factors in software development and establishing linkages among IT strategic alignment, IT goals and software development projects. The content analysis is performed on case study in accordance with research questions. It leads to real-world applicability of the proposed model by expert judgements and qualitative interpretation. The research can vastly reduce financial loss by supporting executive's predictive capability of the investment and expected returns from the software development project. ฉ 2017 ACM.
