Abstract

Production of hydrogen with low CO concentration from ethanol steam reforming for use in a solid oxide fuel cell has been studied. As Ni/Ceria can be used as an anode for intermediate temperature SOFC, the capability in a water gas shift reaction will enhance the performance even further from a steam reforming reaction. The preparation method of Ni supported ceria based catalysts for water gas shift reaction is taken into consideration. The structural properties, particle size changes, reducibility and the microstructure of the catalysts are investigated using X-ray diffraction, temperature-programmed reduction and scanning electron microscopy as well as the performance investigation. ฉ The Electrochemical Society.
