Abstract
This paper presents an improved power control of resonant inverter with the LLC topology using model predictive control. The targeted application is an induction furnace. The PI parameter tuning step is eliminated since an LLC resonant model is used to predict a future value of the inverter current. The output voltage can be predicted by all possible switch states of a full bridge LLC resonant inverter which selected by a quality function to produce sufficient current for the load. The maximum output power point is tracked by a phase limit control which maintains the operation beyond the resonant frequency for the maximum output power. The validation of proposed method is confirmed through a computer simulation at an operating frequency range of 35.59 kHz to 36.10 kHz. ฉ 2017 IEEE.
