Abstract

This paper presents the design of cyber-physical system which integrates the virtual and physical worlds together to service data for tapioca starch plant under process capacity of 250 tons/day. The service oriented architecture (SOA) in the private cloud developed by OPC unified architecture (OPC-UA) technology to provide control, production monitoring, laboratory information and energy management services. According to the different planting area and harvest season, raw material properties are difficult to control thus information from the laboratory integrated with physical modeling to estimate unmeasured parameters to control operation and monitor production. The proposed system was considered with real-time loading to ensure the effective operation and limit of control service by estimating the possible fastest cycle time for the control process by using latency calculation. The result of latency calculation was 3.76 milliseconds for one control loop processing time under flash dryer machine control condition. The system can support approximately 1329 loops with provided control loop processing time for 5% of overall system processing time. ฉ 2017 IEEE.
