บทคัดย่อ

This study aims to use industrial waste to produce eco-friendly concrete. Ground Calcium Carbide Residue (CCR) and ground Bagasse Ash (BA) were blended and used as a binder in concrete instead of ordinary Portland cement. The mixture proportions of the concrete made with the mixture of CCR and BA as a binder were prepared using 100% both coarse and fine recycled concrete aggregates (defined as CCR-BA concrete). Concrete properties such as compressive strength, chloride migration, and water permeability were investigated. The results indicated that the use of a mixture of CCR and BA as a binder in recycled aggregate concrete did not change the characteristic compressive strength of the concrete. The CCR-BA concrete containing 90 kg/m3of Portland cement yielded a compressive strength of 30.0 MPa. Moreover, the chloride migration and water permeability coefficient values of CCR-BA concretes were lower than those of conventional concrete. These results suggested that CCR-BA binder and recycled concrete aggregates can be used as raw materials to produce a new eco-friendly concrete. This concrete can reduce CO2 emissions and environmental problems because of the decreased use of Portland cement and the decreased consumption of natural resources in the production of concrete. ฉ 2017 Elsevier Ltd
