Abstract

Wireless charging is very important for electric vehicles, which gains a lot of research attention to overcome the current limitation. Wireless power transfer is the core technology for developing the wireless charger of EVs. This work reports the review of the current technology of wireless power transfer, which consists of five types including microwave power transfer, inductive power transfer, capacitive power transfer, hybrid power transfer, and dynamic power transfer. Moreover, the major three standards related to wireless charging, which consists of SAE J2954, ISO/PAS 19363, and IEC 61980, are reviewed and compared. For the standard review, it can conclude that inductive power transfer is selected technology for wireless charging and all of those three standards are harmonized with slightly different. ฉ 2019 IEEE.
