บทคัดย่อ

Progressions in the 21st century has redefined classical definitions of social constructs such as families and self-identities, and it is thus imperative to redefine these terms from a modern day aspect. Using an interactive data exploration technique, we have illustrated survey data on different family types across Thailand. The results reveal various unique insights about family numbers and densities throughout the country, including key distinctive family type characteristics between the different provinces. The survey data can then be compared to the registered house data using this similar technique to provide additional aspects on the available data sets and create better understandings for family structure across the country. Such findings include: extended family is the most abundant family type nationwide; the single-parent families account for about 7% of total families; and Bangkok, Samut Prakan and Samut Sakhon are the areas where the total number of families exceeds the total number of registered houses. These insights are potentially useful for policy makers to design proper welfare for those families fallen into under-privileged categories. © 2020 IEEE.
