Abstract

In this paper, we propose an efficient numerical method for registration and intensity correction of images. We first introduced a variational image registration model in our previous work. The variational minimization of the functional in the model is solved by using an alternating minimization method. In this work, we improve the numerical solution of the minimization problem by applying the Split Bregman method together with the alternating minimization method. As expected, our numerical experiments show that the proposed method converges rapidly and is significantly more accurate than the method used in our previous work. © 2021 Taru Publications.
