Abstract
Digital transformation offers an industry unprecedented opportunity for value creation. The integration of
internet of things, services, data, and people will transform the future of manufacturing, commonly known as industry 4.0. This paper presents a conceptual framework for digital transformation, with a focus on manufacturing businesses, in order to foster a digital culture that will support data-driven business transformation. The transformation is guided by three pillars: technology, organization/process, and people transformations. The integration of IT and OT is an essential key for aligning vertical and horizontal data. Effective data governance enables users to make decisions based on high-quality data and information assets that are well-managed. A paradigm shift for digital culture is also required through corporate communication and change management.
