Abstract
The objective of this project is to study a force convection heat transfer tester . The air is flow through inside of the pipe. The pipe 3 type is circular pipe, rectangular pipe and square pipe. In which the surface areas of each pipe are equal. All pipes are equipped with heating coil (Heater)at 1,200 watt and thick insulated 3.5 cm. By testing the heat transfer behavior by convection inside the test pipe, which has 3 levels of air flow adjustment which are 4 m/s, 6 m/s and 8 m/s respectively.Which is going to get the heat flux value 102 W/ m2 140 W/m2 and 180 W/m2 respectively. From the experiment, it was found that when increasing the flow rate of heat transfer air and Nusselt number has a reduced value and Stanton number has an increase value both theoretical and experimental. The circular pipe has the highest Nusselt number and the rectangular pipe has the lowest Nusselt number. All pipes having a precious Nusselt number in experimental differential having a precious Nusselt number in theoretical average not more than percent 18. The rectangular pipe has the highest Stanton number and the circular pipe has the lowest Stanton number. All pipes having a precious Stanton number in experimental differential having a precious Stanton number in theoretical average not more than percent 13.
