Abstract

In this study, an experiment was conducted to measure the effectiveness of mobile phone signal
usage in the building by utilizing carrier aggregation (CA). Experiment settings include using different
types of CA, such as different frequencies (InterBand) and different stations (Inter-site), as well as two
scenarios, one using a single frequency and another using CA. The GENEX PHU Smart program was used
to collect the data, which was then analyzed by the Genex Assistant program. Data transmission speed
(speed Test), throughput, signal strength (RSRP), and signal quality (SINR) were the four metrics used to
evaluate experiment. The results show that the effective of using CA is higher than using single
frequency as download speed increased by 409.90%, upload speed increased by 297.81%, Ping improved
by 45.16%, throughput increased by 249.69%, RSRP decreased by 7.68% and SINR decreased by 14.69%, resulting in 3.5 times more bandwidth and better indoor signal performance.
