Upcycling of scrap polymer film from laminate glass factory for development and use as smart window films

This reearch work has concerned the development a specialty grade PVB films, using the PVB scrap generated from the fabrication process of laminated glass in industry. It was expected that by properrly developing the compounding formulation and optimizing the processing conditions, the specialty grade PVB films capable of exhibiting some useful and interesting properties such as electro/photo-chromic and near infrared reflection for smart glass applications can be obtained.
