Abstract

This project aims to develop a screening and discovery platform for multifunctional bioactive peptides from Arthrospira (Spirulina) that inhibit multi-protein targets related to diseases involving the metabolic syndrome (MetS), particularly diabetes mellitus; hypercholesterolemia; and hypertensive heart disease, using Bioinformatics and machine learning algorihms. The classified multi-functional bioactive peptides that obtained will be verified by molecular docking and molecular dynamics, before bioassy validation. Additionally, the peptides can be tracked back to their original protein(s), resulting a fruitful rationale for the production enhancement of the target protein(s) of the algal cultivation in the future.
