Abstract

The main objective is to conduct research to develop a daylight utilizing system for buildings that includes compiling an initial database of reference daylight conditions and employment of computer program for the design of daylighting system through simulating daylight condition in building interior that results from transmission of daylight through shading devices, windows and clerestory, and supplementary light from LEDs coordinated and automatically controlled so that the overall system is smart, so that it is capable of providing quality lighting, contributes minimal load to air-conditioning and electricity supply system and cost-effective. The process will calculate shading coefficient through the use of SketchUp in order to calculate the overall hermal transfer value of th building envelope and evaluate worth of electricity savings of implementing such a system. Buildings targted for implementation includes offices, hospital, conveneience store, and living quarter of residential buildings. The results will be diseminated widely.
