Abstract

The effective networking of all actors and stakeholders under the same management chain is a

critical factor in the success of plastic waste recycling. The lack of efficient connection throughout the entire network in Rayong city municipality was found significantly. This research explored the current plastics packaging waste management at the community level in the Rayong city municipality and developed an information exchange model for plastics wastes using the geographic information system (GIS). A systematic collection and simulation of the purchasing information, including prices and retail (junk shop) sites' location by waste materials, that helpful information for decision-made shortly of local citizens, waste collectors, and waste banks, were studied. The results demonstrated that GIS mapping was an effective tool for either sortingand separating shop locations or transportation routes optimization. Coupling with saving transportation costs, less emission of CO2 for 7.79 and 37.75 kg CO2 per trip were promoted for the selected plastics, PET bottles and plastic bags
