Abstract
This research presents a mathematical model for the design of a frozen tuna raw material storage and distribution network. Frozen tuna is picked up from importers at several ports and transported to cold storages at several different locations in order to wait for the production order. The frozen tuna is then transported to a multi- location facility. The model is developed to determine the optional of cold storage for frozen tuna storage and distribution. The developed model is applied to a case study which a company owns 3 factories and imports tuna from 2 ports. Currently, the company rents 7 cold storage facilities which the decision is to store each cold storage fully. Consequently, the frozen tuna is often moved from one storage location to another. The developed model is applied and Microsoft Excel Solver is used to find the solutions. The result reveals that total cost can be reduced by about 40 million baht.
