Abstract

The increase in travel trips and private vehicle use is a result of the rapid development of urban areas. This causes traffic problems that have negative effects, such as environmental destruction from fuel consumption, inefficient use of land, and traffic congestion, which is a major problem in Bangkok. Shared mobility is a mode of transportation that allows users to use transportation services when necessary and makes urban travel more efficient. This study investigates the influential factors affecting the intention to use shared mobility services using logistic regression analysis. The study sample consisted of 749 participants living in Bangkok. The purpose of this study was to derive a transport policy to promote the use of shared mobility. The results from the analysis found that the socioeconomic factors that are more likely to use shared mobility are male participants, age over 24 years old, education level lower than a bachelor's degree, income of less than 20,000 baht per month, and those who own a vehicle and take a long travel time. There are also other influential factors including interest in using shared mobility, attitude towards usage, subjective norms, environmental values, saving time, ownership, ease of use, and digital savviness.
