Abstract
The research aims to study factors influencing the intention to use game mechanics to
support the learning of Generation Z students in one technological college. A questionnaire
was developed from literature review and validated using the Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient. One hundred volunteers used a game-driven teaching system through the Web Browser for a
period of 1 month. The results from 100 questionnaires were analyzed to find the correlation
between the factors using the Spearman Correlation Coefficient. It was found that Social
Influence had high influence on the intention to use game mechanics to support the learning
of the Generation Z students in this study. And Performance Expectations, Conditions of Use,
Entertainment Incentives and game mechanics had moderate influence on the intention to
use games to support the learning of the Generation Z students in this study. On the other
hand, Effort Expectation had no influence on the intention to use game mechanics to support
the learning of the Generation Z students in this study.
