Abstract
This research aims to: 1) identify the life skills needs of primary school students and develop community-based learning activities to enhance life skills in the Thung Khru-Bang Khun Thian area, and 2) evaluate and summarize the activities in collaboration with stakeholders in the learning process. The conceptual framework for developing activities is based on the 4 H principles and participatory design. The sample consisted of two phases: Phase 1 included 24 teachers and 25 parents, totaling 49 participants. Phase 2 included 4 community learning entrepreneurs, 26 parents, and 26 students, totaling 56 participants. They were purposefully selected from four types of educational settings: public schools, private schools, alternative education, and homeschooling. The research tools included interviews, activity plans, learning skill assessment forms, activity observation forms, and student focus group discussion records. The research was conducted in three phases: Phase 1 involved literature review, learning area study, and interviews; Phase 2 involved the development of learning activity plans; and Phase 3 involved organizing community forums with stakeholders. The research findings indicated that learning activities utilizing community resources can effectively enhance desired life skills through experiential learning outside the classroom. Recommendations include the necessity of collaboration among teachers, parents, and community learning entrepreneurs in developing children’s life skills.
