Abstract

This project aimed to parameters of the performance for small refrigerator, using direct current compressor (DC) and alternating current compressor(AC). To find economic optimization investment in a refrigerator. In accordance with the TIS.2186-254, the experiment which water is used as cooling load is divided into 2 cases: first, electrical systems from batteries, and the other case, electrical systems from the MEA, with a total cooling load of 10 cases. In both cases, it was found that the performance of coefficient (COP) of the direct current compressor is totally higher than the alternating current compressor. According to the standardized tests showed that the electrical energy consumption during using the AC and DC compressor using are 319.08 kWh / y and 276.82 kWh / y respectively. Comparing to the standard of efficiency criteria of the 1-door refrigerator using the AC systems, it has performance benchmark at level 3. And using DC systems, it has performance benchmark at level 5. It reveals that DC compressor can save about 2023.56 baht/year more than AC compressor and it takes 5 years to payback period.
