The Development of Online English Reading Training Package Integrated with MIA Teaching Method to Enhance English Reading Comprehension for Matthayomsuksa 1 Students

The purposes of this research were (1) to develop and find the quality of online English reading
training package integrated with MIA Teaching Method to enhance English reading comprehension for
Matthayomsuksa 1 Students, (2) to find the efficiency of online English reading training package with MIA
Teaching Method, (3) to study the students’ achievement before and after teaching with online English
reading training package, and (4) to assess students’ satisfaction towards teaching with online English
reading training package integrated with MIA Teaching Method. The samples were 35, 1 class in
Matthayomsuksa 1 students of Naluang School, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration in second semester
of 2023 academic year, selected by simple random sampling and classroom was chosen randomly.
The research tools were (1) Online English reading training package integrated with MIA Teaching
Method to enhance English reading comprehension for Matthayomsuksa 1 Students on two topics which
are “My family” and “Food and Drinks” using the Live worksheets in learning and teaching, the steps were
1) Priming questions 2) Understanding vocabulary 3) Reading the text) 4) Understanding the text
5) Transferring information 6) Jigsaw exercise and paragraph structure and 7) Evaluation and correction,
(2) 4 lesson plans, (3) Learning achievement test, and (4) Students’ satisfaction questionnaires. The data
were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation and t-test. The research findings were as follows: (1)
Online English reading training package integrated with MIA Teaching Method to enhance English reading
comprehension for Matthayomsuksa 1 students. The mean of the quality of content and media design
were at the very good level (X¯ = 4.72, SD = 0.42 and X¯ = 4.58, SD = 0.18) respectively. (2) The efficiency of 2 online English reading training package integrated with MIA Teaching Method were at E1/E2 = 85.64/87.62 and E1/E2 = 83.14/86.10 (3) Students who used the online English reading training package with MIA TeachingMethod had higher achievement score significantly in statistic .05 and (4) students’ satisfaction was at highest level (X¯ = 4.56, SD = 0.53)
