Abstract

This research aimed to develop a Gen Z-oriented learning model using gamification and generative AI and to explore students' and instructors' perceptions regarding the appropriateness and effectiveness of the developed model. The study employed the MIAP Process (Motivation-InformationApplication-Progress) as the learning framework, incorporating gamification mechanics such as points (Points), leaderboards, challenges, immediate feedback, and rewards to enhance engagement. Additionally, generative AI was utilized as a tool to create interactive learning content. The findings revealed that gamification and generative AI effectively increased student engagement, motivated learners, and made the learning process more interactive and engaging. According to the survey results, students expressed a satisfaction level categorized as "high" ( X = 4.44, S.D. = 0.82), reflecting their positive perception of the developed learning model. Meanwhile, the instructors’ satisfaction was at the "highest" level ( X = 4.81, S.D. = 0.12), indicating that they perceived the model as an effective approach to improving learning management.
