Abstract
The objectives of this study were: 1) to develop a learning unit on electrical blueprint reading and drafting for electrical installation based on STEM education combined with cooperative learning; 2) to compare students’ academic in four areas of STEM regarding electrical blueprint reading and drafting for electrical installation in the electrical installation estimation course, both "before and after the implementation of STEM education integrated with cooperative learning integrated with cooperative learning; and 3) to investigate students' satisfaction with the learning approach. The sample group, selected through purposive sampling, consisted of 14 students. The research tools included: 1) a lesson plan for the electrical installation estimation course designed according to the STEM concept and cooperative learning, specifically on electrical blueprint reading and drafting for electrical installation for second-year vocational certificate (Vocational Diploma) students at Nakhon Pathom Technical College; 2) A 40- item multiple-choice test to assess the learning achievement in the STEM-integrated cooperative learning approach; 3) three worksheets on electrical blueprint reading and drafting for electrical installation; 4) a group work behavior observation form; and 5) a questionnaire "measuring students' satisfaction with the learning approach. The results showed that: 1) the learning unit on electrical blueprint reading and drafting for electrical installation based on STEM education combined with cooperative learning achieved an effectiveness index (E1/E2) of 82.74/83.04, which is higher than the established criterion of 80/80; 2) the students’ academic in the four aspects of STEM after the implementation was significantly higher than before at the 0.05 statistical level; and 3) students' satisfaction with the learning approach was at a high level (x̅= 4.49, S.D. = 0.52)
