Abstract

This study aimed to study the results of development of mathematical communication skills through Mathematics Camp activity after using the World Café Methodology in Cooperative Learning framework. The sample consisted of 24 Mattayomsuksa 3 students from Nakprasith School Wat Bangchangnua Foundation, selected through voluntary selection. Research instruments included two activity plans on the topic of linear inequality in one variable, a mathematical communication skills test and activity reflection. The research design was a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-tests and analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and a paired-sample t-test. The results indicated that students’ mathematical communication skills after participating in the Mathematics Camp utilizing the World Café Methodology in Cooperative Learning were significantly higher than before participation at the .05 significance level. This finding indicates that the development of mathematical communication skills through Mathematics Camp utilizing the World Café Methodology in Cooperative Learning can effectively enhance students’ skill to communicate mathematical concepts through drawing, writing, and mathematical expression.
