Abstract
This research was to investigate the performance of Resistance Spot Weld. The investigation consists of 3 conditions which are the samples with proper cleaning, with noxrust on surface and electrode deformation which the real condition in industrial. The specimen was mild steel sheet metal. The welded specimens were tested by tensile shear testing according to JIS Z 3136: 1999 and macro structure testing according to JIS Z 3139: 1978. It was found that the samples have the resistance between 0.30-0.36 milliohm when are considered by tensile shear force, diameter nugget size and penetration ratio. The specimens have the resistance more than 0.36 milliohm can be predict it will be coat with noxrust or dust on surface. The noxrust will affect on the specimens defect tensile shear force decline or over penetration ratio. The samples have the resistance less than 0.30 milliohm can be predict that it has a lower accepted standard of diameter nugget size or penetration ratio more than 80% that are caused by the bigger size of electrode or time current not enough. The resistance value of three conditions had significant different at P<0.05.
