บทคัดย่อ

There are various ways to promote autonomous learning. Self-study can be a goodmeans of improving students’ sense of autonomy in English language learning.This study, therefore, was conducted in order to investigate students’ perceptionstowards their self-study experiences in a self-study module. The subjects wereeight first-year undergraduate King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi(KMUTT) students. The instrument used for data collection was the structuredinterview. The data obtained from the instrument were analyzed to find out thestudents’ attitudes towards the self-study module, their self-efficacy on theirlearning, their opinions about the benefits of the self-study module, and theirproblems encountered while learning. The results revealed that most studentswere satisfied with their performances. It also seemed that students’ attitudes,together with their self-efficacy and their opinions about benefits, influencedtheir self-study learning. Of concern should be problems experienced whilelearning.
