Abstract
Thailand is currently experiencing problems related to the supply and use of energy, which result subsequently in issues related to energy security, greenhouse gas emissions as well as other forms of pollutions. Therefore, it is of paramount importance that the country has appropriate policies and strategies to tackle such problems. To obtain basic data for the establishment of energy policies to mitigate emissions of greenhouse gases and pollutions, a meeting was conducted to brainstorm ideas from a group of energy experts in order to arrive at conclusions and suggestions that can be given to responsible government bodies for future establishment of the desired policies and strategies. This article reports the results of the brainstorming meeting in terms of 3 major policies, namely, promotion of the use of electric vehicles, use of economic tools to alleviate greenhouse gas emissions and pollutions as well as promotion of the use of renewable energy.
