Synchrotron for calcium analysis to determine the origins of edible bird's nest using XAS technique

Calcium is the main mineral in edible bird's nest. X-ray absorption spectroscopy could be used to determine the origins of edible bird's nests and reveal the oxidation state of calcium complexes in edible bird's nest. The different types of calcium complexes in edible bird's nest from different orgins could lead to the evaluation of calcium absorption of the edible bird's nest, thus providing a nutritional information of edible bird's nest.
