Results of a Study in Information Technologyfor Learning Management Systems (LMS) for Online Training

The purpose of this study is to define the utilizing components of information technologyfor Learning Management Systems (LMS) for online training. The population is the experts who

provide their perspective with expertise in all 3 fields: 1. Server Computer 2. Networking and Internet Technology and 3. E-learning Technology. The 7 experts were specific selected for an interview with open-ended questions in order to let them considerably share their experience and knowledge in related fields. The results from the interview can be summarized the configurations of LMS for online training into 3 as fields requirements:
1. Server Computer specs require
1) Central Processing Unit (CPU): 1 or more CPU (Intel Xeon or AMD EPYC CPU)
2) Virtual Memory (Random Access Memory-Ram): 32 GB Ram or higher
3) Storage Type: Solid State Drive (SSD)
4) Storage Size: during the first 4 years, the storage size should be 5 terabyte (TB)
or higher
2. Networking and Internet Technology require direct connection of network cable to server computer for the stability of the network signal.
3. E-learning Technology requires up-dated PHP and MySQL versions for the server computer in order to support the up-dated and higher version of LMS. The server computer is required to be specifically installed for the LMS.
This study is performed as an information technology education guideline for Learning Management Systems (LMS) for online training that will be operated for Mahidol University, Nakhonsawan Campus and other interested educational institutions.
