Skill-based Education Framework and Development

Co-operation from all sectors, including the government, the private sector, and the education sector help prepare Thailand for the development of labor skills in accordance with human resource development direction of the country and the rapid and intense changes in technological innovation. It also promotes the lifelong learning skills. This research presents a conceptual framework of skill-based education program to enable learners to choose education programs that can help develop targeted skills. It further explores the differences off educational program structures including the wellknown online platforms and educational institutions providers with the aim to analyze the design, the structure, and key elements of educational program structures. The skill mapping model is proposed to enable the linking of academic learning outcomes to career skills. In addition, a prototype web application was developed based on our conceptual framework and proposed skill mapping model by using publicly available career skills from the Republic of Singapore to enable the recommendation of related education programs on search skills.
