Abstract

This research aims to study 1) the types of innovation in manufacturing business to enhance competitiveness and 2) the factors affecting innovation in manufacturing business. It deploys quality research method using case studies. In-depth interviews form management are conducted to collect data. The analysis begins with the study of case study organizations to understand their operations and model for innovation development of case study organizations, including types of innovations developed and key success factors for the creation of innovation of case study organizations. The results show that the case study manufacturer focuses on product innovation, process innovation and organization innovation concurrently in order to improve the efficiency of the organization in all aspects. Human resources is the most important factor to develop innovation. The organizational culture, organizational structure, knowledge management, financial resources, innovation process, management style and technology respectively are the factors for the development of the organization's innovation. This leads to competitive advantages and a tool to prepare the organization to deal with the changes arising in the future.
