Abstract

Hospital logistics is another critical area where autonomous mobile robots play a vital role. In this research, autonomous mobile robots have been integrated with wireless devices based on Zigbee and Bluetooth protocols to test the interoperability of autonomous mobile robots and wireless devices when used with elevators. The success rates in four different formats between the AMR and wireless devices were found to be 85.71 %,94.29%,88.57%, and 91.43%. These results demonstrate a significant shift in the working capabilities of autonomous mobile robots, showing improved productivity when using wireless devices in conjunction with elevators. This integration highlights the potential for wireless devices to enhance the functionality of autonomous mobile robots in hospital settings. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
